Used Car of the Day: 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt

I have a soft spot for Bullitt Mustangs, and this 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt that comes to us by way of New Mexico has piqued my interest.

It has a salvage title, so that raises a red flag, but the seller claims to have all the necessary CarFax info and that there was no airbag deployment.

There are 81,000 miles on the car and it's daily driven.

The seller has listed mods such as Ford Racing cams, a Ford Racing driveshaft, a tune, BBK headers and X pipe, upgraded mufflers, short-throw shifter, cross-drilled rotors, carbon-fiber duck-tail spoiler, and uplevel audio.

The car also has new springs, struts, shocks, and idler pulleys.

There are more -- you can see the full list here.

The seller also has the stock parts.

Check it out here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

That creep Patrick S. Tomlinson @stealthygeek forever ruined these for anyone who’s had the misfortune of stumbling across his lunacy

his has a salvage title just like this one but about 3x the miles and is in desperate need of new seat foam. He’s fat, you see.

This is a proper turd with the crusty 4.6 modular engine, oof.

  • Theflyersfan One day, some of these sellers will come to the realization that cars are not houses and putting expensive upgrades into one doesn't equal a higher selling price down the road. $29,000? The only Challenger that has a chance of value down the road, and only with low miles, is the Hellcat.
  • SaulTigh The Cyclone engine was really powerful, but with a fatal flaw. Ask me how I know.
  • Tassos You can answer your own question for yourself, Tim, if you ask instead"Have Japanese (or Korean) Automakers Eaten Everyone's Lunch"?I am sure you can answer it without my help.
  • Tassos WHile this IS a legitimate used car, unlike the vast majority of Tim's obsolete 30 and 40 year old pieces of junk, the price is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. It is not even a Hellcat. WHat are you paying for? The low miles? I wish it had DOUBLE the miles, which would guarantee it was regularly driven AND well maintained these 10 years, and they were easy highway miles, not damaging stop-go city miles!!!
  • Tassos Silly and RIdiculous. The REAL Tassos.
